Comprehensive ADHD assessment
Our ADHD assessments are conducted by consultant psychiatrists and specialist doctors with extensive experience in diagnosing ADHD in adults. We follow a NICE-compliant approach using the internationally recognised DIVA-5 (Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults, version 5), which is based on DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.
Your assessment will include:
- A comprehensive clinical interview exploring current symptoms and how they have impacted your functioning throughout life
- A detailed review of your childhood history, educational and work experiences, and emotional wellbeing
- Structured, standardised rating scales including the Wender Utah rating scale and the ASRS alongside DIVA-5
- Consideration of any co-existing mental health or physical health conditions
If a diagnosis of ADHD is made, the same appointment also includes a personalised discussion of your management options:
- Strategies such as psychoeducation, coaching, lifestyle changes and cognitive behavioural approaches
- A clear, personalised treatment plan, written into your report for your GP to act on
Every patient receives a clear, personalised treatment plan and an outcome letter written for their GP, within 24 hours of the appointment.
ADHD in women
ADHD in women is under-diagnosed, misdiagnosed and misunderstood. Women more often present with the inattentive type and many mask for years. Our assessment recognises how ADHD presents in women and the role of hormones across the menstrual cycle, pregnancy and perimenopause. Learn more →
